MOUNTAIN SANCTUARY PARK (20 - 22 Nov 2009)

MSPpic01.jpg, 118806 bytes A short report about a short weekend!
A Bad omen hung over the weekend from the beginning of the week, it was a very wet week and not the kind of weather to go camping and enjoy it!
Eleni, Horst, Christopher, Michael and Frans set up camp in the rain on Friday. Frans secretly thought that he would be striking tent on Sat, to return home. But Saturday the sun came out!
Horst and Frans did a bundu-bashing hike to the escarpment...it took 5 hours to do 6 kms,,,but a lot of discussions happened en route. I arrived mid pm after my Herb Association AGM, which was held near Midrand. The sun was shining! It was glorious to be in the quiet environs of MSP.
MSPpic02.jpg, 86862 bytesNext morning Judy and Oscar arrived at 7h30, they had to wait for the gate to open. Tania and Allen arrived closer to 9. So we had a leisurely am, to build up energy to do the short hike to the pools. Eleni went on her first hike, post op.
MSPpic03.jpg, 197063 bytesIt was amazing to watch various groups of young things walking to pools in slops, carrying coolboxes and wearing skimpy Tshirt, while we go "prepared for a hike" We left MSP fourish with Judy and Oscar.
And than we had this hiker crossing our path carrying a colourfull little beetle.
